Psychiatry
Anxiety Treatment
The focus is on the diagnosis, therapy, and prevention of behavioral, mental, emotional, and psychological disorders.
A medical professional who specializes in mental health is known as a psychiatrist. Psychiatrists are trained to evaluate psychological issues from both the mental and physical perspectives.

Areas we specialise in
we provide diagnosis and treatment for below and many other emotional/mental health conditions.
- Schizophrenia: People with schizophrenia may appear to have lost all sense of reality. Schizophrenia is less frequent than other mental illnesses, yet its symptoms can still be severely incapacitating.
- Bipolar Disorder: Formerly known as manic depression, bipolar disorder is a mental health illness that results in wildly fluctuating moods, including emotional highs and lows.
- Major Depression: A mood illness called depression results in a persistent sense of sadness and interest loss. It has an impact on how people feel, think, and behave and can cause a number of emotional and physical issues.
- Anxiety Disorders: People who suffer from anxiety disorders have unjustified anxieties about a variety of things because they perceive them as being threatening to their lives.
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder(OCD): It is a prevalent, chronic disorder in which individuals have uncontrollable, recurrent thoughts (obsessions) and behaviors (compulsions) that they feel compelled to repeat continually.
- Acute and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: Acute stress disorder is defined by the emergence of acute anxiety, dissociation, and other symptoms within a month after being exposed to a highly traumatic stressor (e.g., witnessing a death or serious accident).
- Somatoform Disorders: A somatic symptom disorder is defined by a preoccupation with physical symptoms, such as pain or exhaustion, to the point where it results in significant emotional discomfort and functional difficulties.
- Addictive Disorders: Some intoxicants can make addicts exhibit one or more signs of a mental health issue. Alcohol or drug abuse can occasionally result from mental health issues because some people with mental illnesses may misuse these substances as a sort of self-medication.
- Eating Disorders: These are characterized by the impulse for people to manage their weight and physical appearance and to make extraordinary efforts that greatly disrupt their life. Coping with emotional issues is related to losing weight.

With everything that is going on and the fast-changing development of the world right now, it is so easy to feel lost and overwhelmed; oftentimes, our mental health takes a huge beating. Ironically, it is also the most neglected. A lot of us also carry trauma in our bodies that many of us may not even be aware of, which makes us respond to certain situations in very unhealthy ways and affects how we deal with and connect with other people. I encourage everyone to pay attention to their mental health and start listening to what our bodies and our minds are trying to tell us. There is no shame in seeking help when needed. You’ve taken the first step by being here. It will be my privilege to work through things with you, bring you comfort, and help you in any way I can as your therapist

Dr. Zahra Afsahari is a psychodynamic therapist, helping people to gain insight into their lives and present-day problems. She also evaluates patterns people develop over time. Through this, she reviews certain life factors with a person in therapy:
• Emotions
• Thoughts
• Early-life experiences
• Beliefs
She recognizes recurring patterns that can help people to see how they can avoid distress or develop defense mechanisms to cope. This insight may allow them to begin changing those patterns.
The therapeutic relationship is central to psychodynamic therapy. It can demonstrate how a person interacts with their friends and loved ones. In addition, transference in therapy can show how early-life relationships affect a person today. Transference is the transferring one’s feelings for a parent, for example, onto the therapist. This intimate look at interpersonal relationships can help people understand their part in relationship patterns. It may empower them to transform that dynamic.
She also encourages people to speak freely about their emotions, desires, and fears. Being open may help reveal vulnerable feelings that have been pushed out of our conscious awareness. According to psychodynamic theory, behavior is influenced by unconscious thought. Once vulnerable or painful feelings are processed, the defense mechanisms reduce or resolve.
She also works with clients ages 10 years old and above.
